A Year With Aux: 2021 In Review
2021 has obviously been a huge year for us here at Aux. We thought we'd take this opportunity to take a look back at what we've done, our biggest achievements and a little look at what's to come in 2022!
2021 has obviously been a huge year for us here at Aux. We thought we'd take this opportunity to take a look back at what we've done, our biggest achievements and a little look at what's to come in 2022!
Before we get into it I just want to remind everyone how they can keep informed with all things Aux when we kick off the new year. Firstly you're in the right place here at Aux Connect. This is the best place to read about any updates to the platform via our 'Changelog', special announcements like events or just read our blogs by our team and some fabulous external writers. Next, be sure to follow us on all social media at @auxdotapp - that way you'll get all the latest news as well as chance to directly communicate with the Aux team. Finally, be sure to sign up to our newsletter by creating an account with us, you'll get one email a week summarising all of the recent goings on with us.
Now the housekeeping is out of the way - let's start reminiscing!
Beta Launch
The biggest and most notable moment of 2021 for us was undoubtedly the launch of our platform in Beta. After months and months of hard work from our dev team we were able to share our baby with all of you. It may not be the finished product yet but we are thrilled with what we've been able to release into the wild to start working out what works and what needs improvement. We've had a great reaction to the release and it's been so exciting to see users sign up and start uploading files. If you haven't already, sign up and get started!

We've also had our first bits of feedback come in via our public roadmap over on Canny. The whole point of releasing in Beta is to gauge what can really help musicians and if we are on the right track with our app. The fact that we're already getting some comments and ideas from users really makes it all worth it and totally vindicates our choice. It means so much to us that people are taking the time to help us build the best possible tool for musicians; thank you to anyone who's done so to date!
You can contribute to our public roadmap here or you can email us with any feedback at hello@aux.app.
Our first event
We had a great time hosting an event earlier this month with our friends at Parallels. We had some amazing acts perform and the Every Day Café was the perfect venue for the night. It felt so good to to be able to share awesome new music with an audience of packed with young creatives. Plus it was nice seeing our poster up on the wall and our stickers on the tables! We'll be planning more events for 2022 so keep an eye out!

Aux Connect takes off
Since its launch back in September, our Connect Blog has had 30 posts with topics ranging from music production tips to the best music podcasts out there and from vocal recording tips to the best free DAWs on the market. Those are just the articles written in house, we've also had the pleasure of welcome some fantastic guest writers to Connect. Steven Loftin from The Line of Best Fit has done two fantastic opinion pieces for us and Jiggy Joski-Jethi aka Orion has written two illuminating entries into his Creator Diaries series.

In case you're new to Aux we thought we'd share some of our favourite blog posts to date:
Truth in Music: Giving The People What They Want - Steven Loftin takes a look at current trends in songwriting by taking a look at the success stories of Sam Fender, Self-Esteem and more.
Recording Vocals: How To Step Up Your Game - a selection of tips and life-hacks to improve your home vocal recording routine.
Creator Diaries: Part 1 - How I Hear Music - new artist, Orion details how he has arrived at the dautning position of being a first time songwriter by shining a light on his own influences and musical taste.
Music Podcasts You Should Be Listening To (Part 1) - a handful of music-based podcasts as suggested by the Aux Team that will help you through the Winter period and might just teach you a thing or two.
Touring: Respect The Regional - another one from Mr. Loftin, here Steven appeals to any smaller acts that might not be factoring the smaller, less frequented regional towns into their touring schedule.
Music Ally feature
We were overjoyed to have been featured in Music Ally's list of 60 start ups to watch in 2021. It's an honour to be included in such an amazing list alongside so many great start ups.

Aux Changelog
We, and by we I mean our incredible dev team, have already begun implementing fixes and improvements into our platform. We'll be releasing a monthly update to our changelog to help our users keep track of how we're updating Aux.
You can read the first edition of the changelog here.

What's next?
As you can see we've packed a lot into the last few months and we aren't stopping with the hard work any time soon. You've heard enough from me about how great our platform is, with a little tease of what's to come in the new year I'll hand you over to our founder, Ben.
"2022 is going to be the year of Aux. In the works we have background syncing coming to your desktop, custom support for your favourite DAWs and a mobile app for capturing and commenting on the go. Throughout the year we'll be presenting our first annual Aux Awards, building on the existing Aux Guide and continuing to bring new content, from posts to video series right here on Connect."
As Ben says there'll be plenty to sink your teeth into over the coming months and we are beyond excited to share our work with you. In the meantime though, keep making music, recording podcasts and collaborating with Aux giving you a helping hand throughout. Have a fantastic holiday season and a great New Year.
All our best,
Team Aux
