  1. The Windmill Brixton

The Windmill Brixton is the most exciting small venue in london. This backstreet pub and informal music venue is where bands like The War on Drugs, Black Country New Road, Black Midi and more cut their teeth. The Venue hosts many underground and leftfield acts. If you are looking for a great night of new exciting live music then this is the venue for you.

2. Village Underground

The Village Underground is housed in a renovated turn-of-the-century warehouse primed for everything from concerts and club nights to exhibitions, theatre, live art and other performances. Founder of AUX Ben Bowler says "Many of my best nights out have started at this iconic and instantly recognisable venue in Shoreditch. When I first moved to London I was drawn to it by the two tube carriage-cum-art studios perched on the roof. Inside it is a bass heavy, dark, dramatic brick lined space."

3. The 100 Club

The 100 Club is one of the most historic venues on this list, having been graced by acts such as the Sex Pistols, The Clash, and Muddy Waters just to name a few. The venue's longevity is due to an open minded music policy which has seen many different musical styles performed at this venue over its long history. Nowadays the venue is still an exciting destination, hosting a wide range of new music from many up and coming bands.

4. The Sebright Arms

Hidden away, just off Hackney Road, The Sebright Arms is very much your locals boozer known for hosting early shows for buzz bands such as Courtney Barnett, Charli XCX, Catfish and the Bottlemen and more. The Sebright Arms continues to host exciting up and coming bands.

5. The Old Blue last

The Old Blue last is a pub/live venue in Shoreditch. Since 2004 they've been bringing you the best forward-thinking bands and DJs seven nights a week, as well as secret shows by some of the biggest names around and often completely for free.  The venue champions up and coming artists. The venue also hosted the DIY Magazine Hello 2022 shows which showcased many exciting new bands.
